Research includes federal and state laws and regulations governing national and state banks, financial holding companies, and information security and technology compliance requirements. Document review and preparation includes security policies and standards, regulatory guidance summaries, risk assessment documentation, contract reviews, third party security reviews, and incident response.About This Role:Key Job Responsibilities:Conduct research and draft memoranda on topics related to information security and technology governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management within the financial services industryResearch and monitor federal and state laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance impacting information security and technology operations, including requirements from OCC, FFIEC, GLBA, PCI-DSS, and emerging AI regulationsReview and interpret contracts, laws, regulations, and other guidance relating to information security and technologyAssist with development and maintenance of security policies, standards, and governance documentationSupport preparation of governance reporting materials including regulatory landscape summaries and risk reportingProvide general support to the Technology Compliance team across compliance research and risk management activitiesOther duties as assignedInvolves sitting, typing and use of a computer for extended periods of timeThe Ideal Candidate for This Role:Basic Qualifications:Completion of one (1) year (or in second semester) and current student of an accredited law schoolRegular and predictable attendanceProfessional demeanor; ability to maintain confidences and handle sensitive information with discretionAbility to work individually (self-motivated) and as a team memberCapable of interacting with varying audiences including legal, compliance, technology, and business stakeholdersKnowledge of research platforms, Microsoft Office applications, and aptitude to quickly learn other applications as neededAdditional Qualifications:Strong legal research and analytical skillsEffective written communication skillsStrong problem-solving skills with attention to detailInterest in cybersecurity law, regulatory compliance, or information security and technology governanceCandidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.Work Environment:It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing in-person collaboration three (3) days a week with remote flexibility two (2) days a week.
