Job summary

VIP LOGISTICS LLC is seeking a DOT Safety Compliance Coordinator to ensure adherence to DOT and FMCSA regulations, oversee driver qualification files, and manage safety programs. Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; college preferred.
  • Experience in a compliance, safety, or administrative role, preferably in transportation or logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations (49 CFR).
  • Maintain and audit Driver Qualification Files (DQFs).
  • Monitor Hours of Service (HOS) logs and ELD records.
  • Oversee drug and alcohol testing programs (pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion).
  • Track and manage driver credentials (CDLs, medical cards, MVRs).
  • Coordinate DOT inspections, audits, and corrective action plans.
  • Maintain vehicle files, inspection records, and maintenance documentation.
  • Monitor CSA scores and implement improvement strategies.
  • Develop and deliver safety training and orientation programs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for DOT and regulatory agencies.

Job description

The DOT Safety Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the company complies with all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. This role focuses on driver qualification, vehicle compliance, safety programs, audits, and ongoing monitoring to reduce risk and maintain regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations (49 CFR)
  • Maintain and audit Driver Qualification Files (DQFs)

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum High school, college preferred
  • Experience in a compliance, safety, or administrative role, preferably in a transportation or logistics preferred.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in business related field
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., DOT, FMCSA) and safety practices.
  • 1 year or more of experience in a transportation compliance role or equivalent combination of education and experience
