About the team
The Group Compliance department devises and deploys operational compliance systems across the enterprise to ensure that remains in compliance with state, federal and local laws and internal policies. Compliance works closely with all departments, but most closely with our highly regulated lines of business such as Home Loans, Group Marketplace, Insurance Services, our real estate brokerage, and title and escrow operations. The Compliance Operations team, which provides operational and strategic support to Compliance, is dedicated to optimizing and implementing processes, innovative tools, and resources that empower Compliance team members to do their best work. The team highly values new ideas and approaches and we constantly seek to find solutions that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Compliance. About the role
Will drive strategic initiatives around business process improvement and optimization projects throughout the Legal & Compliance (L&C) organization. This role is a key part of the organization’s success, partnering with multiple teams on cross-functional projects—requiring substantial business knowledge, operational wisdom, creativity, critical thinking, problem solving, and proficiency in data analytics and process optimization. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Compliance Operations and Strategy, you will continuously assess our internal compliance operating methods for potential improvement, including opportunities in artificial intelligence, automation, consolidation, and increased performance; collaborate to improve our compliance systems and tools; and work to standardize operations and system adoption across all compliance teams. You will assist our legal and compliance teams to work across the company to build compliance requirements, by design, into daily operations. You will drive key legal and compliance initiatives to completion through close collaboration with business partners and compliance leaders. Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Business Operations Analyst on the Legal and Compliance team, you will:
● Own a variety of well-defined initiatives that drive operational efficiency across the Compliance functions, including consolidation, standardization, and automation of functions, staffing, and methodologies.
● Critically examine, measure, and thereafter innovate Compliance operational methods, tools and processes. In this role, you will participate in identifying, assessing, and championing the adoption of artificial intelligence and automation into Compliance operations. You will also help identify technology systems that enhance operations and configure those systems for use across the Compliance teams.
● Assess and improve internal operations by helping to develop uniform operational procedures, consolidating functions, standardizing reporting metrics, and improving compliance program documentation.
● Partner with the Senior Manager of Compliance Operations to identify friction and gaps in existing processes and to ideate and implement creative solutions to these challenges.
● Support the adoption of a standardized system for drafting, adopting and periodically reviewing key policy and procedural documents across the enterprise.
● Participate in the design and development of effective communication channels for the Compliance teams and their partner teams in the Legal department and thereafter facilitate the free and transparent flow of project-related information between these teams.
● Partner with the L&C Business Intelligence team to build and maintain dashboards for key compliance metrics.
● Build and maintain strong and trusted relationships with internal and external collaborators.
Qualifications:
You should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 5-6 years of experience as a compliance or strategic operations leader, gathering and utilizing data to inform business decisions. You demonstrate proven leadership in compliance theory, project management, process optimization, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate has a strong background in optimizing business processes and technologies for multifunctional teams and an understanding of data and information management, process workflows, stakeholder alignment, and their potential impact on business operations. You need experience in the management of cross-functional work streams from conception to completion within stated SLAs. Should be able to work effectively in a remote work environment through self-motivation, clear communication, and management of your workload and schedule. Strong project management, technology, and organizational skills are essential to your success in this role.
MUST HAVE:
A strong PM background.
Airtable and Smartsheet are both musts.
Strong compliance background to include regulatory compliance (understanding the language), understanding of the mortgage origination process, etc
Prior experience with medium to large size tech firm (required)
