Job summary

AIG Claims, Inc. is seeking a Complex Claims Director to manage high-exposure Cyber, Media & Technology claims, including class actions. You will determine coverage, investigate losses, project exposures, set reserves, and lead outside counsel relationships while coordinating with underwriters on renewals. This role requires strong negotiation and litigation knowledge and a JD or equivalent.

Office-based role emphasizing client relationships and strategic resolution of complex matters.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience handling complex insurance claims, litigation, or related work.
• Strong negotiation skills and excellent interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of litigation/arbitration processes is required or highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of complex first- and third-party Cyber, Media & Technology claims.
• Make coverage determinations and investigate losses.
• Evaluate and project potential exposures and set reserves.
• Develop and implement resolution strategies; manage outside counsel.
• Collaborate with underwriting on policy renewals and promote client relationships.

Through a robust stakeholder feedback loop and supported by consistent processes and leadership, we take pride in delivering responsive, fair and professional service with empathy and efficiency.How you will create an impactAs a Complex Claims Director, you will be responsible for handling all aspects of complex first party and third-party liability, Cyber, Media & Technology claims, including class actions and high exposure matters, from inception through conclusion brought against insureds engaged in a wide range of professions.The responsibilities for this role include making coverage determinations, investigating losses, evaluating, and projecting potential exposures, setting judgmental reserves, developing and implementing resolution strategies, managing outside law firms, working with underwriting on policy renewals and promoting client relationships.What you’ll need to succeed:7+ of experience handling complex insurance claims, litigation or other related experiencePosition requires excellent negotiation skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills and knowledge of the litigation and arbitration process.Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (Juris Doctor) is highly preferredKnowledge or experience in computer network and systems security or information security is a plusReady to take your career to the next level? We would love to hear from you.For positions based in New Jersey, the base salary range is $99,000-$143,000. For positions based in Chicago, the base salary range is $120,000-$145,000. For positions based in New York, the base salary range is $116,000- $145,000. For positions based in Boston, the base salary range is $122,000- $145,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
