Job summary

Allstate Canada Group in Ontario is seeking a Claim Advisor ADR, Accident Benefits to join our team. You will handle complex up to non-catastrophic first party injury claims by phone, in person or by written correspondence.

Reporting to the Manager Casualty Claims Complex AB, you will interpret policy wording, set reserves, negotiate settlements, and ensure files are thoroughly documented while upholding regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Ontario Accident Benefits experience outside the MIG.
• CIP designation completed or pursuing preferred.
• Prior insurance experience and knowledge in injury claims, medical rehabilitation concepts, and medical terminology preferred.
• Strong time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to outstanding customer service.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Interpret insurance policy wording, determine policy coverages and set reserves on Accident Benefit claims assigned.
• Investigate, negotiate and settle accident benefits claims by telephone, in person and/or by written correspondence.
• Comply with best practices as set out in Allstate policies and procedures.
• Adhere to legislative and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure files are thoroughly documented.
• Settlement of claims within personal authority and follow company guidelines on claims exceeding personal authority.
• Set and define customer service expectations.
• Take ownership and accountability to solve customer problems.
• Maintain a caseload reflective of a Claim Advisor, Accident Benefits.
• Communicate and interact with claimants, vendors, medical professionals, lawyers professionally.
• Work collaboratively with a team of Accident Benefit Adjusters and Claims Assistants.
