Gulfstream Aerospace Savannah is seeking a Completions Tech Spec III with deep expertise in aircraft flammability certification under 14 CFR 25.853. The role emphasizes regulatory interpretation, delegated authority processes, and cross-functional leadership across certification programs.

The candidate will drive risk-based assessments, perform material failure investigations, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with FAA/EASA authorities to resolve complex regulatory requirements.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
• 13 years of technical discipline experience or 15 years broad engineering experience.
• Advanced degree in engineering preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

Responsabilidades

Unique Skills:

Ideal candidate should have demonstrated expertise in aircraft flammability certification with extensive knowledge of 14 CFR 25.853 compliance, material qualification, delegated approval authority processes, certification planning, regulatory interpretation, testing, and cross-functional leadership supporting aircraft development and certification programs. Test witnessing should include 25.853(a)(c) and (h), 25.856(a), 25.1713(c).

1. Certification Strategy Development -

• Ability to develop certification approaches that minimize testing while maintaining regulatory compliance.

2. Delegated Authority Experience

• FAA DER, AR, ODA, or equivalent delegated authority experience
• Ability to approve compliance findings independently

3. Risk-Based Compliance Assessment

• Capability to identify compliance risks early in the design phase and drive resolution before certification testing.

4. Material Failure Investigation

• Experience performing root cause analysis on flammability test failures and developing corrective actions.

5. Supplier Qualification & Audit Experience

• Ability to assess supplier material data, qualification packages, and manufacturing changes that could impact flammability compliance.

6. Configuration Change Impact Analysis

• Understanding how engineering changes affect certified flammability baselines and approval requirements.

7. Regulatory Interpretation

• Ability to engage FAA/EASA authorities and resolve ambiguous regulatory requirements.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 13 yrs specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:

1. Responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within established scope .
2. Makes technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities .
3. Applies advanced technical principles, theories and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge .
4. Leads the development of innovative principles and ideas .
5. Acts independently to determine improved methods and/or procedures to optimize technical product, cost and schedule requirements .
6. Works under consultative direction; uses independent judgment to accomplish objectives .
7. Develops standards and guides for diverse engineering activities .
8. Conceives and plans investigation of broad areas of importance for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the program .
