Job summary

The YMCA of South Florida is seeking a part-time Swim Coach to supervise practices, coach the team, and support administrative tasks across the competitive swimming program. The role represents the YMCA at team events and with members and non-members, ensuring safety and positive experiences.

You will plan workouts, teach stroke analysis, and help implement new programs while recruiting and retaining participants.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and the ability to discipline, counsel, and evaluate performance.
• Ensure all members have access to high-quality, mission-driven programs in a safe aquatic environment.
• Computer literate; working knowledge of Microsoft Office, e-mail and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Supervise swim practices and coach the swim team and other groups as needed.
• Plan and supervise workouts, teach stroke analysis, drills, and techniques; stay current with coaching trends.
• Assist in implementing new competitive aquatics programs and handle participant recruitment, retention, and program administration.
• Promote the swim team program and communicate with parents and other coaches regarding assignments, swimmer progress, and events.
• Develop feeder programs and recruitment strategies to grow the team; attend meets and assist with events.
