Job summary

Collin County is seeking a Human Resources Generalist – Compensation to perform and evaluate compensation and classification analyses, conduct job observations, and create job descriptions and postings. The role works under the direction of the Human Resources Compensation Manager.

Key duties include benchmarking salary data, ensuring compliance with FLSA, reviewing grants for salary and benefits, and assisting with budget metrics and compensation processes across the county.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from an accredited college.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal HR laws and regulations.
  • Excellent writing and spoken communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Internet savvy.
  • Ability to analyze compensation data and conduct benchmarking.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform compensation analysis and classify job roles.
  • Create and revise job descriptions and postings.
  • Benchmark salaries using internal and external data.
  • Ensure compliance with FLSA and other regulations.
  • Assist with budgets and grant-related compensation changes.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership.
