Job Description And Duties

California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) is recruiting for multiple full‑time permanent Analyst I position in the Employer Account Management Division’s (EAMD) Compensation Compliance & Review (CCR) Section.

This program area ensures compensation and contributions reported by contracted employers comply with the Public Employees’ Retirement Law and the California Code of Regulations and are accurately reported to the retirement system to comply with the pension law.

Under the general direction of the CCR Supervisor I, the Analyst I, will model CalPERS core values and is responsible for the overall operational activities.

  • Serve as a technical liaison between CCR section, and other CalPERS divisions as it relates to myCalPERS functionality, including but not limited to researching, validating proposed business requirements for system enhancements, defect solutions, and implementing new program initiatives.
  • Collect, compile, analyze and summarize data sets to determine operational risks and impacts.
  • Prepare legal correspondence, memorandums, and other legal documents.
  • Research and analyze written labor policies, agreements, etc.
  • As subject matter expert and technical liaison educate, guide and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders, regarding compliant and noncompliant compensation.
  • Conduct thorough in-depth analyses to prepare Request for Legal Action (RLA) and serve as a CalPERS witness for administrative hearings.

Effective July 1, 2025, The California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). PLP 2025 directs that each employee shall receive a 3 percent reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours PLP 2025 leave credits, monthly. The salary range(s) included in the job advertisement do not reflect the 3 percent reduction in pay.
