Compensation Analyst Location: Fort Worth, TX Employment Type: Contract Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite Pay Rate: $38.00–$42.00/hour, based on experience Position Overview Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Compensation Analyst for an onsite opportunity in Fort Worth, TX. This position supports the administration, analysis, and continuous improvement of compensation programs while partnering closely with Human Resources, Finance, Payroll, and Operations. The Compensation Analyst will conduct market pricing and benchmarking, support annual compensation cycles, analyze workforce and compensation data, develop reports and dashboards, and provide data-driven recommendations that support business objectives and talent strategies.
The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of compensation, benefits, Total Rewards, or HR analytics experience, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and strong experience working with HRIS, payroll, and reporting systems. Experience with Dayforce, Power BI, compensation planning, and pay equity analysis is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct compensation market pricing and benchmarking using salary surveys and market data.
- Support annual compensation planning cycles, including merit increases, promotions, market adjustments, and incentive programs.
- Analyze internal and external compensation data to evaluate market competitiveness and pay equity.
- Review job descriptions and assist with job evaluation, leveling, and position classifications.
- Develop compensation models and recommendations for new and existing positions.
- Prepare compensation reports, dashboards, analyses, and presentations for HR leadership and business stakeholders.
- Monitor compensation practices for compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Develop, maintain, and distribute recurring and ad hoc compensation reports.
- Create dashboards and data visualizations that provide actionable workforce and compensation insights.
- Use advanced Microsoft Excel functions and reporting tools to analyze complex datasets.
- Perform data audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity across HRIS, payroll, benefits, and related systems.
- Analyze departmental data, census files, and other workforce datasets as needed.
- Support benefits eligibility, enrollment, and compliance activities.
- Evaluate compensation and benefits program effectiveness and recommend opportunities for improvement.
- Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and improve compensation and reporting processes.
- Participate in HR technology implementations, upgrades, integrations, and optimization initiatives.
- Document business requirements and collaborate with HRIS, Finance, Payroll, Operations, and external vendors to implement solutions.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, integrations, and organizational changes impacting compensation and Total Rewards programs.
- Maintain compensation documentation, policies, procedures, and audit records.
- Assist with audits, regulatory reporting, and compensation-related data requests.
- Stay current on compensation trends, legislation, market practices, and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Analytics, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in compensation, benefits, Total Rewards, HR analytics, or a related HR function.
- Experience conducting compensation analysis, market pricing, benchmarking, and/or compensation planning.
- Experience working with HRIS, payroll, benefits administration, and reporting systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex compensation and workforce data.
- Experience developing reports, analyses, and presentations for leadership.
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on data accuracy and integrity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across Human Resources, Finance, Payroll, Operations, and other business functions.
- Must be able to work 100% onsite in Fort Worth, TX.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting compensation and benefits programs within a large or multi-site organization.
- Knowledge of compensation survey methodologies, salary benchmarking, and job evaluation practices.
- Experience with Dayforce.
- Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools.
- Experience conducting pay equity analyses.
- Experience with compensation planning systems and annual compensation cycles.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Microsoft Excel certification, or related professional certification.
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, integrations, or significant organizational changes.
