Job summary

Lynx EMS in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a dependable Wheelchair Van Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for patients to medical appointments and facilities.

You will interact with patients and healthcare staff, follow safety procedures, maintain punctual routes, and keep vehicles clean and ready. Prior non-emergency medical transport experience is a plus, but not required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to safely assist patients with mobility needs using proper body mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a wheelchair-accessible van during assigned daytime routes.
• Transport patients to and from medical appointments, hospitals, dialysis centers, rehabilitation facilities, and other healthcare locations.
• Assist patients with entering and exiting the vehicle using proper safety procedures and body mechanics.
• Properly secure wheelchairs and other mobility devices before transportation.
• Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate service to patients and their families.
• Maintain punctuality and effective time management throughout assigned routes.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure safety and operational readiness.
• Keep the vehicle clean, sanitized, organized, and well-maintained.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and healthcare facilities regarding arrival times, delays, changes, or special transportation needs.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures, HIPAA requirements, company policies, and traffic laws.
• Complete required transportation and trip documentation accurately.
