Job summary

Urgent Pet Care is seeking a dedicated Exam Room Assistant to support veterinarians, check in clients, and communicate calmly with families during emergencies. You’ll learn Avimark and MS Word, handle multi-tasking, and deliver compassionate customer service while upholding UPC values.

Candidates should be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays; maintain professionalism, attention to detail, and safe practices.

Qualifications

• Veterinary experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ensure actions align with UPC Core Values and Behaviors in Action.
• Maintain high level of professionalism at all times.
• Manage time and tasks appropriately and stay flexible with duties.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Abide by safety policies and foster a safe environment.
• Follow company policies and adapt to changes as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving.
• Good attendance.
• Make decisions confidently and effectively.
• Attend monthly staff meetings.
• Capable of 9–10 hour shifts and beyond when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarian under supervision to determine best treatment plans.
• Serve as a reassuring guide for clients and patients.
• Provide exceptional customer service with compassion and respect.
• Learn and utilize Avimark and MS Word.
• Support a clean, safe, and organized exam area.
• Multitask efficiently in a high-stress environment.
