Job summary

WellHaven is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, educate clients on pet health, and maintain high standards of care. This onsite role requires handling pets, maintaining records, and contributing to smooth hospital operations.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma, 6+ months in veterinary care, and NAVTA-approved training (preferred). Responsibilities include reception duties, inventory tasks, and patient safety in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ months of experience in the veterinary industry.
• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with procedures and patient care.
• Maintain medical charting with accuracy and quality control.
• Educate clients about Wellness Plans and pet health guidance.
• Assist with reception duties like scheduling and patient intake/discharge.
• Manage hospital supplies and inventory.
• Provide professional, empathetic client service.
• Adhere to OSHA standards and company policies.
• Perform duties in a fast-paced hospital environment.
