Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' San Diego Bay Animal Hospital in San Diego, California is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks, including preparing and sanitizing equipment, restraining and handling patients, and assisting with basic medical care and client communications.

You will join a busy, full-time team dedicated to compassionate, high-quality service for cats and dogs across the community, with a focus on prevention, wellness, and customer care.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous veterinary hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients and greet clients.
• Take patient weight and vitals upon arrival and assist with exams.
• Triage patients and assist with treatments as directed by licensed staff.
• Calm and soothe anxious patients and ensure comfort.
• Assist doctors and technicians with administration of medications and restraints.
• Perform laboratory tests, radiographs, and assist with procedures as needed.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

18 years or older

Previous veterinary hospital experience
