Petco is seeking a Veterinary Assistant for a full-time role at our Dallas Vetco Total Care hospital. You will welcome clients and their pets, help doctors during exams and procedures, and keep EMR records accurate and up-to-date.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of veterinary experience, strong communication skills, and a team-focused attitude to ensure exceptional animal care and client satisfaction. This position supports a compassionate, collaborative hospital environment.

Formación

• One year veterinary practice experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate and professional demeanor in stressful situations.
• Telephone and computer skills are essential.
• Team player willing to learn and adapt.

Responsabilidades

• Greet clients and patients, escort to exam room, record vital signs and visit details in EMR.
• Assist doctors with routine and emergency appointments, surgeries and dentistry.
• Restrain patients, collect samples, dispense medications under supervision.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay results to doctors and clients.
• Prepare patients for procedures and monitor anesthesia under supervision.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and maintain patient comfort and cleanliness.
• Assist in training new staff and maintain a clean, orderly hospital environment.
• Provide backup front desk and phone support as needed.
