Required is a High School Diploma or GED with at least one year of pet-care experience. NAVTA-certified programs are preferred and proficiency with Outlook/Word is desirable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience in a pet care setting.
• Certificate from a NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Word; familiarity with industry websites.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and technicians to ensure safe, comfortable visits for pets.
• Prepare exam rooms and medical equipment between appointments.
• Obtain initial patient information and update medical records.
• Calm and restrain pets during procedures as directed by veterinarians.
• Educate owners on pet care and post-procedure instructions.
• Monitor vital signs after surgery and report changes.
• Maintain clean cages, kennels, and boarding areas.
• Follow practice policies and quality standards.
