Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in delivering high-quality care for pets. You will educate clients, maintain medical records, and help create a safe hospital environment.

Candidates should be NAVTA-certified or equivalent, comfortable handling procedures, and able to multi-task in a busy clinic. Weekend/evening hours may be required; full-time and part-time positions available.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-certified Veterinary Assistant program or equivalent.
• Must be 18+ to perform radiography duties per state rules.
• One year related experience with customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians to maintain flow of patients and care quality.
• Provide professional, efficient service; prepare procedures and monitor hospitalized or surgical pets as allowed by state acts.
• Educate clients about wellness plans, preventive care, and hospital services.
• Obtain patient history and maintain complete medical charts.
• Ensure safety of pets and people by following protocols and maintaining clean areas.
• Assist with surgery as applicable and apply NAVTA-guided skills.
