Job summary

Tenafly Veterinary Center is seeking a dedicated and client-focused part-time Veterinary Receptionist to join our team in Tenafly, NJ. We welcome candidates from human medical or dental offices, urgent care clinics, or high-volume hospitality and customer service environments.

No veterinary experience is required; onboarding and training will be provided. The role includes greeting clients, managing phones, scheduling, check-out, and maintaining a welcoming reception area with a 28-hour weekly

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in front desk, receptionist or customer service in medical or veterinary settings.
• Strong verbal and written communication with active listening and conflict resolution.
• Experience with appointment scheduling, multi-line phones, data entry and payments.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients at the front desk, collect intake info and confirm appointments.
• Answer a multi-line phone system, direct calls, and respond to scheduling inquiries.
• Process payments, post charges and schedule future appointments.
• Provide compassionate customer service during stressful or emotional moments.
• Enter data accurately and maintain organized records in the practice system.
• Relay messages to clinical staff and support daily operations.
• Keep reception and waiting area clean, organized and welcoming.
