Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer proficiency, including practice management software and Microsoft Office.
• Previous experience with animals preferred; veterinary background valued.
• Safe handling around chemicals, anesthetic gases, radiation, zoonotic diseases and fluids.
• Maintains composure and professionalism in high-stress situations.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and handle animals up to 130 pounds.
• Comfortable sitting, standing, walking, bending and kneeling for long periods.
• Professional, neat appearance aligned with hospital standards.

Responsibilities

• Provides compassionate, professional care to patients and clients at all times.
• Communicates clearly with clients, doctors, and team members; answers phones.
• Handles sensitive client situations with empathy and discretion.
• Assists the veterinarian during exams, diagnostics, treatments and surgeries.
• Safely restrains animals using low-stress handling techniques.
• Administers medications, vaccines, collects samples and runs basic lab tests.
• Records treatment plans accurately in the medical records system.
• Educates clients on vaccinations, medications and care plans.
• Records patient information and maintains organized medical records.
• Enters charges and assists with client checkout and payments.
• Keeps exam rooms and hospital areas clean, stocked and maintained.
• Demonstrates reliability, punctuality and teamwork supporting operations.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
