Job summary

Hebron Animal Hospital in Hebron, KY is seeking a veterinary assistant to join a six-doctor small animal team. You will restrain and handle patients, collect histories, assist with imaging and anesthesia, and provide nursing care to hospitalized pets.

This is a dynamic role at a high-standard AAHA-certified practice. Ideal candidates have 1+ year veterinary experience, strong communication, and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience in a veterinary setting; 1+ year preferred.
• Comfortable restraining and handling pets.
• Compassionate, calm, dependable, able to multitask.
• Strong communicator and collaborative team player.
• Self-starter eager to continue learning.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced veterinary environment.
• Experience with sample collection, medical histories, lab tests, radiographs, or anesthesia monitoring is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely restrain and handle patients for examinations and procedures.
• Triaging incoming patients and obtaining medical histories.
• Collect, process, and analyze laboratory samples.
• Assist with diagnostic imaging, including digital radiology.
• Provide nursing care and monitor hospitalized patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by the team.
• Communicate treatment plans to clients; prepare patients for surgery and assist during procedures.
• Support anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery.
• Maintain clean, organized treatment and patient care areas.
