Job summary

Care Initiatives is seeking a Van Driver in Eldora, IA for part-time hours. You will safely transport residents to appointments and events, assist with boarding and wheelchair securement, and maintain vehicle safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Driver’s License with Class D - Chauffeur Endorsement.
• Not more than 2 traffic violations within the last 3 years.
• No prior driving under the influence convictions.
• CPR and first aid certification or willingness to accomplish.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and special events
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van, including wheelchair securement
• Follow schedules and coordinate timely pick-ups and drop-offs
• Observe residents during transport and report concerns to nursing staff
• Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle (fuel, fluids, basic supplies)
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs
• Communicate daily with nursing and facility teams
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff
• Maintain reliable attendance and work flexible hours, including weekends
