Job summary

Fonda Specialty Care, a 46-bed long-term care community in Fonda, IA, is hiring a Van Driver. You’ll transport residents to appointments and events, assist with boarding, and help keep the vehicle safe and clean.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver's license with Class D – Chauffeur Endorsement.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to accomplish.
• No more than 2 traffic violations within the last 3 years and no DUI convictions.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and events.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van, including wheelchair securement.
• Follow schedules and coordinate timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Observe residents during transport and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle (fuel, fluids, basic supplies).
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs.
• Communicate daily with nursing and facility teams.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
• Maintain reliable attendance and work flexible hours, including weekends.
