Job summary

The Arc Southern Chesapeake in Lexington Park, MD is seeking a Van Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for individuals supported by the agency. This full-time role reports to the Community Services Manager and requires a Maryland driver's license and clean driving record.

You will operate the assigned van, assist passengers, read maps, maintain vehicle cleanliness, complete trip records, and respond to emergencies. CDL is preferred but not required; HS diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited high school or GED.
• Adequate vision and hearing for supervising passengers and responding to emergencies.
• Ability to read and interpret road signs in English.

Responsibilities

• Operates assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.
• Assists passengers in and out of the vehicle; uses ramps and lifts as needed.
• Reads maps/directions to plan routes; maintains vehicle cleanliness.
• Fuels and performs minor maintenance on vehicles; records trip data.
• Responds to emergencies; provides First Aid until help arrives.
