Job summary

Behavioral Health Group (BHG) in Alabama is seeking a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to conduct individual and group counseling, develop treatment plans, and connect patients with community resources. You’ll welcome new patients, guide them through intake, and support recovery with dignity and empathy.

This full-time role offers a schedule 5:00 AM–1:30 PM, a pay range of $21–$24 hourly plus bonuses, plus benefits such as medical/dental/vision, PTO, and opportunities for certifications.

Qualifications

• Meet state-level requirements.
• Experience in behavioral health.
• Ability to make decisions and seek direction in confidential, sensitive situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling for people recovering from drug and alcohol disorders.
• Guide patients through intake and orientation processes.
• Develop, update, and maintain individualized treatment plans and accurate records.
• Connect patients with community resources and follow up on referrals.
• Foster an inclusive, respectful environment and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Assist with crisis response and documentation as needed.
