Job summary

Mercy Health's St. Rita's Medical Center seeks a Speech Language Pathologist to diagnose and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders across all ages. You will evaluate, plan, and implement individualized therapy programs.

Responsibilities include patient evaluations, discharge planning, home-therapy education, and collaboration with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes. Licensure in current practice state is required; CCC-SLP preferred within one year.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist in current practice state.
• CCC-SLP preferred at hire, required within one year.
• BLS certification preferred upon hire or within 30 days for RSFH/BSMH.
• Experience in an equivalent setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess physician referrals, patient conditions, and medical histories to determine therapy needs.
• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, re-evaluations, and develop treatment and discharge plans based on assessments.
• Administer prescribed speech language pathology treatments tailored to individual patient needs.
• Design rehabilitative programs addressing language, voice, fluency, swallowing, cognition and memory.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home therapy procedures; collaborate with the care team.
• Participate in patient care conferences and adapt goals as necessary.
