Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a Speech Language Pathologist at St. Charles Hospital to diagnose and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders across all age groups.

The role involves evaluations, treatment planning, patient/caregiver education, and collaboration with the care team. State licensure is required; CCC-SLP is preferred and must be obtained within one year.

Qualifications

• Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in current practice state.
• CCC-SLP certification preferred; must be obtained within one year.
• BLS certification required within 30 days for some sites.
• Experience in related setting preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Assess referrals, patient conditions, and history to determine therapy needs.
• Conduct evaluations, re-evaluations, and discharge plans based on assessments.
• Administer SLP treatments tailored to patient needs.
• Design rehab programs addressing language, swallowing, cognition, and communication.
• Educate families and caregivers for home continuation of therapy.
• Collaborate with healthcare team and participate in patient care conferences.
