Qualifications

• Meet NCLB paraprofessional requirements: 60 college credits or an Associate's Degree or paraprofessional certificate.

• Have a valid South Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no more than four points in the past 12 months; probation/suspension rules apply.
• Maintain a current DOT Physical as required by the district.
• Complete state school bus driver training and obtain a School Bus Driver's Certificate (annual renewal with 10 hours of training).
• Pass PPT (School Bus Driver Physical Performance Test) and renew CDL periodically as required.
• Proof of American Citizenship or Employment Authorization.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students on the bus and maintain a reliable time frame.
• Keep records, time sheets and mileage reports.
• Drive bus safely following state and county guidelines.
• Establish and maintain a positive relationship with students and parents.
• Assist with pupil insurance details as needed.
• Keep equipment clean inside and outside.
