Applicants must hold a valid South Carolina CDL with limited points, a current DOT Physical, complete state driver training, and pass the PPT; the role requires a paraprofessional credential or 60 college credits and citizenship or work authorization.

Qualifications

• Must meet NCLB paraprofessional requirements (60 college credits or an Associate's Degree or paraprofessional certificate).
• At least 18 years of age.
• Have a valid South Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no more than four points in the last 12 months and comply with DUI policy.
• Maintain a current DOT Physical and complete state school bus driver training for a 1-year certificate.
• Pass the School Bus Driver Physical Performance Test (PPT) and renew as required.
• Proof of American citizenship or employment authorization.

Responsibilities

• Keep accurate records, time sheets and mileage reports.
• Drive bus safely and maintain a firm, safe atmosphere for students.
• Supervise students and ensure on-time transportation to and from school.
• Cooperate with investigations related to accidents involving state-owned buses.
• Establish good relations with students and parents.
