Denver Public Schools is seeking an individual to assist with the safe transportation of special needs students on assigned routes. You will help secure students, operate and install assistive equipment, and follow all district and state safety policies.

Requirements include a high school diploma, CPR certification within 90 days, a valid CO driver’s license, and the ability to communicate in English (Spanish preferred).

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience working with special needs population preferred.
• Must be 18+ years old and have a valid Colorado driver’s license.

Responsabilidades

• Assists with the proper securement of students during boarding and unloading and uses appropriate equipment (e.g., lift, vest).
• Follows safety rules during bus operations and at stops and school drop-off locations.
• Communicates with passengers and students.
• Manages student behavior to ensure safety of self and others.
• Assists with student pick-up and drop-off at neighborhood locations per District policy.
• Administers and maintains knowledge of basic first-aid procedures.
• Coordinates with students and parents about routine transportation issues.
• Supervises students and reinforces positive behavior and policies.
• Cleans the bus daily and as needed.
• Monitors student safety during bus travel.
