Job summary

Academy District 20 seeks a part-time Transportation Assistant to support school transportation services for special needs students. You will assist the bus driver, ensure safe loading and unloading, and help with emergency procedures while maintaining student logs and behavior safety plans.

Ideal candidates will have First Aid/CPR, a high school diploma, and strong communication and teamwork abilities to interact with students, staff, and families in a dynamic school environment.

Qualifications

• First Aid/CPR certification is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Reports consistently for work as scheduled.
• Assists driver in simulated and actual emergency evacuation of all vehicle occupants.
• Assists in the resolution of disciplinary student issues.
• Assists students with physical tasks like putting on/taking off outerwear and buckling seat belts.
• Directs student safety and crosses at crosswalks to ensure safe transportation.
