Job summary

Spokane Public Schools is seeking a Comprehensive Intervention (CI) Paraeducator to support students with disabilities in a collaborative learning setting. The role involves assisting teachers with instructional tasks, implementing IEP-related supports, and ensuring student safety and data collection.

Hours are 8:00 AM–3:30 PM, 7 hours daily, with start ASAP. Benefits include SEBB health plans, paid holidays and other leave in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.

Qualifications

• Must provide high school diploma (or equivalent) AND 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits from an accredited college, AA or BA degree, OR pass an academically rigorous assessment.
• Must complete Core Competencies within one year if hired into a Paraeducator position (refer to the ESS Collective Bargaining Agreement).
• Demonstrated interest in working with students with a broad range of disabilities.
• One year of successful work experience, training, or school district experience with students or adults with disabilities preferred.
• Must demonstrate ability to follow directions, carry out routines, and implement interventions as directed by certificated staff or supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional assistance in core academic areas designed by the teachers/specialists and assist with IEP implementation.
• Participate as a team member and support behavioral/social skills programs under certificated staff supervision.
• Assist with student mobility, personal care, and supervision; administer and document medication per district policies as needed.
