Job summary

Leisure Vale Assisted Living in Glendale, CA is seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to support our daily kitchen operations and ensure high-quality meals for residents and staff.

You will direct food preparation, supervise kitchen stations, assist the Head Chef with menu items and recipes, uphold safety and sanitation standards, and collaborate with the kitchen team to deliver delicious, nutritious meals with compassion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant kitchen experience.
• COSHH awareness and chemical safety knowledge.
• Experience with kitchen equipment.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work.
• Team player qualities.

Responsibilities

• Directing the food preparation process and delegating tasks
• Cooking and preparing high quality dishes
• Assisting the Head Chef to create menu items, recipes and develop dishes
• Supervising all kitchen stations
• Supervising, motivating and working closely with other Chefs/Cook of all levels
• Being responsible for health and safety
• Being responsible for food hygiene practices
• Ensuring food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created
• Assisting with determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
• Ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines
