Ochsner Health is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to collaborate with radiologists, perform advanced diagnostic ultrasound, and mentor junior staff and students. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and patient-centered care in a dynamic imaging department.

Required CAHEA-approved training in diagnostic sonography, RDMS eligible within 12 months, and BLS. Willingness to work flexible hours and engage in ongoing professional development is essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of CAHEA approved program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• RDMS or registry eligible within 1 year of hire.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.

Responsabilités

• Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy.
• Operate ultrasound equipment per protocol and assist radiologists.
• Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
• Review images for diagnostic quality prior to transmission.
• Support department operations, including inventory and scheduling.
• Maintain awareness of regulatory standards and quality control.
• Demonstrate professional communication with diverse patient populations.
