The Salvation Army Morgantown is hiring a Social Service Worker to help individuals and families access food, emergency assistance, clothing, and community resources. This full-time role involves advocacy, case management, and collaboration with local agencies to meet client needs.

You will assess eligibility, guide clients through applications, maintain confidential records, and support the day shelter and pantry operations. Strong communication and organization are essential.

Formación

• Associate degree in Human Services or related field is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in social services or related helping profession.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience considered.
• Strong communication, organization, and confidentiality are essential.

Responsabilidades

• Meet with individuals and families to assess eligibility for programs.
• Assist with food pantry services, vouchers, clothing, furniture, and emergency aid.
• Oversee Day Shelter operations within the facility.
• Help clients complete applications and gather required documents.
• Coordinate rent and utility assistance with landlords and utility providers.
• Connect clients with community resources and partner agencies.
• Maintain confidential client records and compile service statistics/reports.
• Answer questions about available programs to clients and the community.
• Support seasonal and special community programs as needed.
• Assist with pantry inventory and distribution.
