Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a Community Services Specialist to provide emergency assistance and manage the food bank, helping eligible participants access resources and work toward self-sufficiency.

You will interview applicants, monitor food distributions, connect clients with community resources, and support daily operations of the Community Services Office, including case management, emergency aid, and seasonal events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferably AA degree or higher with work experience
• Experience working with low-income and vulnerable people
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Valid driver's license required

Responsibilities

• Maintain the food bank: ordering, accepting, stocking shelves, and notifying the manager of issues
• Assist clients in selecting food items and ensuring proper distribution
• Interview applicants to determine eligibility for social services and resources
• Monitor and record food distributions to clients and follow up on status
• Support administrative tasks and seasonal events in the Community Services Office
• Work in other TSA programs as needed
