Job summary

Spring Harbor is seeking a dedicated Transportation Assistant to safely move residents to appointments and activities. You will help residents in and out of vans, assist with mobility devices, and ensure trips are conducted in a calm, respectful manner.

Responsibilities include maintaining vehicle cleanliness, logging trips, performing basic pre-trip inspections, and coordinating resident transportation needs with staff. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Ability to read and comprehend schedules and memos.
• Valid driver’s or chauffeur’s license.

Responsibilities

• Drive community vehicles to transport residents to appointments and activities/outings; assist residents on and off of vehicles; help with assistive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, etc.
• Maintain travel logs and transportation charges; conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections; report unsanitary conditions or needed repairs of vehicles to supervisor.
• Assist with activities as time permits and attend meetings/trainings as needed.
