Job summary

Day & Nite Air Conditioning Service Corp is seeking drivers to transport members using mobility buses, handling on/off-boarding, and accompanying members to medical appointments and field trips. The role emphasizes safety, courtesy, and dependable service in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, maintaining records, and communicating professionally with members and staff. Prior driving experience and DOT physicals may be required, with certifications provided

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 21 years of age.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Prior experience working as a driver preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and state/vehicle-specific driver credentials.
• Prior experience working with seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred.
• Able to push, pull, bend, turn, pivot, transfer and lift up to 50 pounds; able to routinely and repeatedly exit and enter the vehicle to assist members with on- and off-boarding.
• Able to pass required physical exams including Department of Transportation (DOT) exam.
• Successful results of background check, motor vehicle report, drug testing and any other state-specific requirements.
• Knowledge of local geographic area preferred.
• Where applicable, certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and PASS are required and will be facilitated as part of job training.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and follow prescribed maintenance and fueling schedule.
• Notify supervisor of mechanical or safety concerns and report repair needs.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Routinely exchange recommendations with coworkers to best accommodate members during onboarding, off-boarding and transport.
• Assist members with onboarding/offboarding and special needs; ensure safety restraints.
• Maintain and secure vehicle information (route, mileage, fuel, service records).
• Communicate in a positive, courteous, and professional manner with members, families, coworkers, referral agencies and the community.
• Report issues or unusual occurrences to the lead driver, transportation coordinator or center director.
• Comply with policies, safety and regulatory laws and standards.
• Assist in identifying operational efficiencies to enhance the member experience.
• Other duties as assigned.
