Job summary

The Downsizers seek a dedicated Downsizing Specialist/Mover to support seniors through sorting, packing, loading, and placement of belongings. You will work with the Downsizing Manager to follow Move Plans, ensure safety, and deliver a compassionate client experience in private homes and communities across the Triangle region.

Responsibilities include hands-on packing, loading, transporting, and settling belongings, while maintaining clear communication and high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Must enjoy helping older adults and families during transitions.
• Experience in moving/logistics or physical work is preferred.
• Clear verbal and written communication, with compassionate client interaction.
• Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with sorting, packing, and decision-making about belongings.
• Load, transport, and place items into new homes safely and respectfully.
• Drive company vehicles and perform truck loading/unloading.
• Document project details and communicate status to team managers.
• Support onboarding and training of new team members.
