Job summary

The Housekeeper at Better Living plays a vital role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors in our assisted living community. You will maintain resident apartments, common areas, and facility spaces while upholding infection control standards and ensuring resident comfort and dignity.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or environmental services preferred, especially in healthcare or senior living.
• Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and infection control standards.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and compassionate demeanor around older adults.
• Good communication and customer service skills in resident-occupied areas.
• Must pass required criminal background check and health screenings.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and living areas.
• Perform daily cleaning of common areas such as hallways, lounges, dining rooms, and restrooms.
• Dust, vacuum, mop, sweep, and polish floors and furniture as needed.
• Change linens, make beds, and launder resident or facility items as assigned.
• Safely handle and store cleaning supplies per infection control and safety protocols.
• Report maintenance needs or safety hazards to appropriate staff promptly.
• Respect resident privacy and belongings.
• Assist in preparing rooms for new residents for a move-in experience.
• Collaborate with care staff to support resident well-being and satisfaction.
• Adhere to community policies and regulatory requirements.
• Other duties as assigned
