Job summary

Better Living provides senior living management with a focus on dignity and joy for residents, families, and staff. We are seeking a Housekeeper to maintain clean, safe environments in our assisted living community.

The role emphasizes infection control, respect for residents, and collaboration with care staff to support overall resident well‑being. Candidates should have prior housekeeping experience and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or environmental services experience preferred, especially in healthcare or senior living.
• Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and infection control standards.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
• Compassionate and respectful demeanor when working around older adults.
• Good communication and customer service skills, especially when working in resident-occupied areas.
• Must pass required criminal background check in order to serve vulnerable adults.
• Must be screened TB and other state-required health care conditions.
• Be able to read, write, and comprehend English.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and living areas.
• Perform daily and scheduled cleaning of common areas such as hallways, lounges, dining rooms, activity spaces, and restrooms.
• Dust, vacuum, mop, sweep, and polish floors and furniture as needed.
• Change linens, make beds, and launder resident or facility items as assigned.
• Safely handle and store cleaning supplies, following proper infection control and safety protocols.
• Report any maintenance needs, safety hazards, or resident concerns to the appropriate staff promptly.
• Respect resident privacy and belongings while working in living spaces.
• Assist in preparing rooms for new residents to ensure a clean and welcoming move-in experience.
• Collaborate with care staff and other departments to support overall resident well‑being and satisfaction.
• Adhere to community policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Other duties as assigned
