Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic nutrition and dietary requirements for seniors.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines accurately.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
• Must pass background check and health screening as required by facility policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with planned menus, dietary restrictions, and portion controls.
• Ensure food is prepared and served at proper temperatures and in a sanitary manner.
• Follow sanitation and food safety procedures per health department regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, work areas, and storage spaces.
• Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies.
• Collaborate with dietary aides to ensure timely meal service.
• Adapt recipes to meet special dietary needs of residents (diabetic, low sodium, pureed).
• Monitor inventory and notify supervisor of shortages or low-stock items.
• Comply with infection control policies and participate in safety training.
• Exhibit professional behavior and promote a positive environment for residents and staff.
