Rose Glen Village in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, is seeking a compassionate Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and provide nutritious, resident-centered meals. You will assist with meal preparation, portioning, and serving according to dietary plans, while upholding sanitation and safety standards.

You will collaborate with the dietary team to ensure timely service, guest satisfaction, and adherence to residents' dietary preferences, building a caring dining experience for our seniors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a food service role is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is essential.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Meal assistance: help prepare, portion, and serve meals per dietary plans and requests.
• Sanitation: maintain cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes and equipment.
• Resident support: assist with meal setup and serving to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Food safety: follow all protocols for safe storage, handling, and sanitation.
• Inventory support: assist in receiving, storing, and signaling shortages to the Dietary Manager.
• Team collaboration: work with the dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen and dining operations.
• Resident engagement: fulfill special dietary requests and respect individual preferences during meals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.
