Job summary

Westside Federation of Senior & Supportive Housing seeks an Assistant Cook to support meal prep, service, and cleanup for senior residents under the supervision of the Food Service Manager. The role requires preparing nutritious meals and adhering to DOH guidelines.

Candidates should have a minimum of 6 months cooking experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a NYC Food Handlers Certificate. Strong teamwork and communication, plus the ability to work independently, are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute meals for senior residents.
• Follow all DOH-approved recipes and guidelines.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen, storage, and dining areas.
• Assist with food deliveries and storage per DOH.
• Monitor dining room during meals.
• Attend department meetings as needed.
• Prepare meals in Cook #1 absence.
• Dishwashing and trash removal.
