Job summary

ACC Senior Services in Sacramento is seeking a compassionate Caregiver / Resident Assistant to help residents with daily living activities, grooming, bathing, and mobility within a supportive community. The role includes documenting basic medical information and assisting with dementia-related activities.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• A high school diploma or GED required.
• Experience as a Caregiver or Resident Assistant preferred; training available for those that meet other qualifications.
• Complete caregiver training as required by Title 22 prior to providing direct care, and annually, thereafter.
• Effective English communication skills, verbal and written required; bilingual a plus!

Responsibilities

• Maintains a warm and welcoming environment for residents and coworkers.
• Assists residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) in a manner conducive to the residents’ comfort, safety, and dignity; promptly answers call signals; provides support and redirection to residents who have cognitive changes.
• Recognizes and respects resident’s emotional, social, cultural, and religious needs and beliefs; observes and reports changes in the resident’s attitude, appearance, behavior, physical ability to Shift Supervisor or Resident Care Coordinator.
• Conducts and assists with recreational activities.
• Communicates effectively and clearly with health care professionals.
• Develops positive relationships with residents, families and visitors while preserving resident privacy.
