Job summary

Good Samaritan, Canistota, SD, is hiring a Medication Assistant to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse. This role includes administering prescribed medications, observing and recording vital signs, and supporting activities of daily living for residents in a not-for-profit senior care facility.

The MA will assist with transfers, positioning, and range-of-motion exercises, contribute to nourishment and hydration, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum age 18; prior long-term care experience preferred.
• Annual continuing education per state requirements; keep certifications current.
• CNA certification with State Board of Nursing where applicable.
• CMA/TMA certification as required by state for medication tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Record and communicate vital signs and care changes to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transfer, positioning and range-of-motion activities as prescribed.
• Support dining and meal service to create positive dining experiences.
