Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year senior services experience preferred.
• State Trained Nursing Assistant certification required per state.
• CNA or Home Health Aide certification preferred.
• CPR certification required or obtained during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living per care plan.
• Read 24 hour log at shift start.
• Make rounds and check care needs with residents.
• Assist with clothing and weather-appropriate attire.
• Help incontinent residents with clothing/linens.
• Assist with ambulation using walkers/canes.
• Assist during meals and ensure participation.
• Encourage participation in activities.
• Shampoo hair weekly unless done by beautician.
• Make beds and light housekeeping.
• Prepare residents for activities, meals, appointments.
• Deliver meals or assist with feeding.
• Verify meal participation.
• Report changes to Nurse/Director.
• Welcome new residents and assist adaptation.
• Assist with packing/unpacking move-in.
• Infection control compliance.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

State Trained Nursing Assistant certification (if required by State)

CNA certification or Home Health Aide certification

CPR certification
