Job summary

Retirednurses is seeking a compassionate LPN/LVN for a contract role supporting students’ health at a Tacoma, WA area school. The nurse will provide nursing care, health education, and student support throughout the school day.

Responsibilities include medication administration, first aid, and collaboration with teachers and healthcare staff to ensure a safe learning environment for all students.

Qualifications

• Current, active LPN or LVN license in Washington.
• Experience with pediatric populations or in a school setting preferred.
• Familiarity with care plans for chronic and acute medical conditions.
• Skilled in medication administration, first aid, and emergency response.
• Strong communication and record-keeping abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care and monitor student health concerns.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
• Support students with chronic health conditions (diabetes, asthma).
• Provide basic first aid and respond to health emergencies.
• Document health activities and maintain medical records.
• Act as a resource for health education with students, families, staff.
• Work closely with teachers and staff to promote a safe learning environment.
