Interventional Pain Spine & Orthopedics in Nutley, NJ is seeking a detail-oriented Scheduling Coordinator / Insurance Verification specialist to join our growing team. You will schedule patient appointments for pain management and orthopedic procedures while verifying insurance coverage to minimize delays in care.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and familiarity with EHR/practice management software.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in medical scheduling and/or insurance verification.
• Familiarity with pain management, orthopedic, or spine terminology is a strong plus.
• Working knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorization, and eligibility processes.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) and practice management software.
• Strong communication skills with a patient-first, compassionate approach.
• Highly organized with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; medical administrative certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments for pain management, spine, and orthopedic procedures.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to patient visits and procedures.
• Obtain prior authorizations and pre-certifications for treatments, referrals, and diagnostic services.
• Communicate with insurance carriers, patients, and clinical staff to resolve coverage questions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within the practice management system.
• Follow up on pending authorizations and ensure timely approvals to avoid scheduling delays.
• Serve as a point of contact for patients regarding scheduling changes, insurance questions, and appointment reminders.
