Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals’ Kings County Hospital Center in New York City is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to deliver professional nursing care in an assigned unit, applying evidence-based practices to support life and well-being.

Under supervision, you will develop and evaluate nursing regimens, maintain care plans, collaborate with the health team, and educate patients and families. A valid NYS RN license and BLS are required; post-acute care opportunities may apply.

Qualifications

Valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Special note: Post-Acute Care assignments may have additional criteria and supervision requirements.

Responsibilities

Provides professional nursing care to patients/clients within an assigned unit.
Diagnoses and treats responses to health problems using nursing methods.
Develops, implements and evaluates the nursing regimen for patients/clients.
Records and maintains nursing care plans and progress notes for continuity of care.
Interprets patient responses to the health team and collaborates with interdisciplinary staff.
Provides teaching and guidance to allied nursing personnel and participates in standards of nursing practice.
Participates in department conferences and policy development affecting nursing care.
