Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan is seeking a professional nurse to provide patient-centered care on an assigned unit under supervision. You will diagnose and treat responses to health problems using nursing methods and education.

The role requires a valid New York State RN license, current BLS certification from the AHA, and ongoing participation in continuing education to maintain licensing and practice standards.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State RN license and current registration.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, provides professional nursing care to patients/clients within an assigned unit.
• Identifies physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms and selects essential nursing measures.
• Develops, implements and evaluates the nursing regimen for assigned patients/clients.
• Records and maintains nursing care plans and progress notes for continuity of care.
• Interprets and reports patient responses to appropriate members of the health team.
• Participates with interdisciplinary health team members to plan a comprehensive patient care program.
• Maintains standards of nursing practice and participates in continuing education.
